Shingo Wakagi, Takuji (9+)
Photographers Foreward:
I think the first time I photographed my grandfather was when I was thirteen years old. It was natural to me since we lived in the same house and he was the closest person around.
I became more interested in photography, and my grandfather modeled for me so I could practice. While I was enrolled in an American university, and was far from home, I realized how important it was for me to photograph my grandfather. The man I had photographed for "practice" was my most important subject. I posed him for some of these pictures; in others, he posed himself. Some are just snapshots. All these pictures, however, document the time my grandfather and I spend together. My grandfather teaches me about life just by standing before my camera.
